Jackie Thomas

Jackie Thomas is a volunteer with a heart of gold. She is someone who believes so much in the rescue's mission that her volunteerism spans nine years and the adoption of two Atlanta Pet Rescue dogs of her own, Kasey and Toby.

Jackie's volunteer story is one of longevity and dedication to Atlanta Pet Rescue. She started her volunteer days with Judy Price, founder of APR, before it became the rescue group we all know today. In those early days, the adoptions were set up on busy street corners or shopping areas. Jackie would drive on a Saturday to whatever location Judy had brought the dogs in order to help. Then APR became official and Jackie continued to give in whatever way she was needed, including becoming one of APR's very first adoption counselors. Throughout the last nine years, she has volunteered at Paws for Cocktails and other events, continued being an adoption counselor, and has helped proactively implement ways for APR to get more exposure in the community.

The founding philosophy of Atlanta Pet Rescue is to match each pet with the right home; a home and family that they can count on for life. Jackie volunteers with APR because she believes in that philosophy. We thank you Jackie for your dedication, devotion and love. You lead and inspire!
