Tater's Story

Hi, my name is Tater! Atlanta Pet Rescue saved me from a puppy mill in Alabama where I was being used as a breeder. My world turned around when I was taken from a life of neglect and placed in the warm arms of the wonderful volunteers of APR. I was used to spending my days in a tiny cage, never knowing the comforts of having enough to eat, a warm bed to sleep in and the love of a human. I had Demodex Mange, likely the result of a poor diet and stressful environment, and was missing about half of my hair. I was also pretty terrified of people. Luckily, APR did their absolute best to nurse me back to health.

In January of 2009, a couple came to visit me...several times in fact. They actually ended up taking me home with them! It didn't happen overnight, but I came to understand the joys of unconditional love, chew toys, playing ball, walks to Piedmont Park, treats and warm laps to curl up in. Although I used to tremble and hide when approached, I now greet my humans with a ferociously wagging tail and enormous grin! I even served as the "ring bearer" at their wedding, where the guests got to watch me walk down the aisle! My "parents" would like me to pass along their sincerest thanks to everyone at Atlanta Pet Rescue. They simply don't know what they'd do if I wasn't a part of their family!

Yours Truly,

Tater (Ryan and Emily, too!)
