Reeses and Buttercup (formerly Margie and Lois)

After much looking for a kitty for our young kids, we found Lois and Margie at APR and ended up with both of them, though 2 cats were not in the plan. They are very sweet girls and very patient with the children, which isn't always easy with cats. Buttercup (tabby) tends to be a little more on the skittish side, but when she decides it's time to be affectionate, she's all over you! Reeses (1/2 and 1/2 face) is the least skittish cat I have ever seen - nothing makes her jump. Our 3 year old can be right in her face going nuts and she just sits there.

Reeses is our funny one - extremely curious... has to know what everything is, sometimes fetches objects and walks around carrying them in her mouth looking to play, and the latest is she pants like a dog after a lot of ball chasing. Her meow is hilarious - especially considering her size, consisting of a series of high-pitched mini-squeaks. Reeses is also obsessed with food and the pictures don't show it, but she's significantly larger than Buttercup. Even so, Buttercup has no problem "taking her" in their cat play. They still play like kittens, complete with booty wags, wrestling, somersaults, wild chases from one end of the house to the other (over and under furniture), and then occasionally licking of each other in between.... then going right back into smacking each other on the forehead.

I know quite a few people were involved in bringing these girls to APR. There are so many out there with big hearts who rescue these animals on a daily basis. Thanks for being there for so many animals who need you.

  1. I am so glad that your family adopted these babies! They are two of the sweetest cats I have ever known. Looks like they found the forever family that was just tailor made for them!
