Misty

Here are some pictures of Misty (we changed her name to Sissy). She fits in with our other dogs just great. It is amazing how far she has come in a few weeks. We recently went to the beach and here are some pictures.

Hopper (aka Oreo)

Just about two months ago, I brought then Oreo home to foster. Within two days, I knew he was staying. He immediately took to my two beagles and they to him. The resident cat, Emma Kate, wasn't so sure about this bouncy, hoppy kitten ... but being less than a year old herself, she quickly jumped on board and now, her and Hopper play like crazy and rest together. Hopper's name came from his crazy hop he does right before he attacks the nearest dog. The dogs love it and his little moves helped me come up with a unique name that fits this black and white cat to a T.

I remember when Hopper first came to Atlanta Pet Rescue as a wee kitten just barely bigger than my thumb. He had been orphaned, along with the rest of his litter. Only one other sibling survived. APR gave him the round-the-clock care he required to grow and thrive. Now, he's the life of the party ... and of our house. He is the center of attention, plays with EmmaK and the beagles, and loves to lay on my computer when I'm working ... which means I don't get much work done! Thank you, Atlanta Pet Rescue!! Hopper is a treasure!

Miss Emmie (Kira)

Miss Ida Mae and I adopted Emmie (formerly Kira) on May 14th and she has been right at home here in the mountains of NC. Her adjustment has been remarkable since we got her completely healthy. She is one snuggle bunny who likes to give and receive kisses. She is also quite a talker (not barker!) very quietly making soft noises. Her fenced yard in the woods is a joy to her. Makes my heart sing to watch her.
Thanks APR from Miss Ida Mae (March 2004) and myself for this wonderful little girl.

Ralphie & Rusty

We are just thrilled to have these wonderful little boys. They have adapted to their new surroundings with no stress at all. They have recently discovered the ease in getting up and down the stairs in the house; the laps that they do in the backyard off both sides of the deck are amazing to watch. Their energy level is incredible and they are still getting used to their housemate kitties. They are doing great and little Ralphie seems to be growing by the day. They are starting with the dog walker today and I look forward to favorable reports from her. I am thrilled that they are doing so well with the housetraining; three accidents thus far which is really a great thing for two puppies.

Thanks to everyone at the rescue for taking care of and loving these sweet babies. They have truly found a wonderful home with their two daddies, and I won't begin to tell you just how spoiled they are already.

Regards,
Jesse Babin

Louie

We found Louie at Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption a few years ago where they found him tied up on a tree in the park. He was left alone, very skinny, and (since he is a poodle) needed a haircut. Luckily, APRA found him. They took him in, cut his hair, and posted him on their website. As a dog lover, I looked on Petfinder every day and when l saw him, I immediately fell in love with him. He is such a good boy!

Pablo Picasso's New Home

I adopted Pablo, a one year old Chihuahua, on September 25th. I am amazed by how quickly he has adapted and become comfortable in his new home! On his first trip to the animal hospital in the week following his adoption for his first check-up, even the vet was shocked by how healthy and well adjusted he was!
Pablo now lives on the seventh floor of a highrise in Buckhead. He loves rawhide bones, playing with tennis balls and his new egg baby from Red Bandanna. He is extremely affectionate gives tons of kisses and loves to sleep under the covers of my bed and snuggle.
He also loves people! He has enjoyed many afternoons/evenings on a terrace with a group of friends having after work drinks.
Pablo has also started obedience training and has already learned how to sit on command!
I hope Pablo enjoys his home as much as I am loving having him in it! He is a little prince, and I can't imagine being matched with a better dog!
I greatly appreciate the support of APR in helping me find Pablo!

Happy Tail

We adopted Murphy in September as a companion for our dog Roxie. She is the sweetest dog on earth and after a little time getting to know each other Roxie likes Murphy to sit on her lap for car rides and they have become good pals.I thought we were getting her for our dog but she has quickly won my love and affection and we couldn't imagine our home without her! Thank you Atlanta Pet Rescue.

Woody

I just wanted to let everyone know that Woody is an absolute delight. I adopted him at noon on Saturday and by Saturday evening, he had won the hearts of everyone (both canine and human) with whom he came in contact.

He walks on his leash as though he has been in the neighborhood all of his life and he comes into the house as though he has lived here forever. He has favorite beds and perches throughout the house and has a difficult time deciding which he prefers most.

Once he gets me to sleep, he gets down from his human bed and makes rounds throughout the house before he returns for kisses. Early this morning (around 4:30 a.m.), he came to alert me when he saw two spotted fawns from his perch in the sunroom window. Sunday morning and yesterday afternoon, he came to alert me that the cows, whose pasture backs up to Woody's backyard, were making noises. He has decided that he does not like to hear those cows talking, and he comes to get me so that I will hold him up to get a better look or better yet, take him out on his leash so that he can personally let them know of his displeasure.

He gets a brief morning romp with the neighbor's dogs. He even has an older dog up running around the enclosed area. His evening romp includes the dogs from the other neighbor as well. His only challenge so far is an aloof female diva alpha. She hasn't decided to allow him to get close enough to sniff, but he takes it all in stride and brings her his ball and other toys. I think her heart will melt soon.

My sister met him for the first time yesterday and has decided that she will kidnap him the moment I turn my head. He had no problem welcoming her and taking an early afternoon walk with her. After his walk and drink of water, he led her through the house and showed her that he wanted to get up on his human bed. He hasn't yet decided that he likes using the little set of steps, but he quickly learned how to do so.

Well, that's all I have to say about Woody's first three days in his new home. He sends his love and gratitude to you and his kennel mates for being so good to him while he was with you. He also says not to worry about him because he's got his human wrapped around his fluffly little paw and has found his forever home.

Sincerely,
Woody and Cordellia

Coko (formerly Arista)

I'm Jennifer, the young lady that adopted Coko (formerly known as "Arista".) on Friday, October 1, 2010. After our first weekend together, I thought I'd just give you guys a little update on this special little girl. She is adjusting very well to being a spoiled lap kitty! Coko enjoys her playtime, nightly brushing, and climbing, scratching, and perching on her tree/condo. She purrs all the time, and gives plenty of hugs and eskimo kisses! She's so friendly, my mom and best friend love her to pieces and she loves them right back. I am truly blessed to own such a wonderful companion. Thank you so much for your help, guidance, and for choosing me to adopt from your facility. I've had an awesome experience with Atlanta Pet Rescue, and I will be sure to pass along a good word to anyone I know that's looking to adopt a furry pal. In closing, I've attached a few photos of Coko for you all to enjoy. Thanks again!

Sincerely,
Jennifer

Winnie (Formerly Heather)

We adopted Winnie (an American Eskimo) in July 2007. She was recovering from heartworms and was very withdrawn. She recovered completely, has continued to thrive, and is a precious member of our family-which recently expanded. Winnie now has a little dog brother and wanted to share the photo!
